Schopflocher Moor

Schopflocher MoorThe Schopflocher Moor is a special landscape feature of the Swabian Alb's karst area. It owes its formation to a layer of clay which accumulated water and which originated as a result of the weathering of a volcanic vent. The silting up of the maar lake which used to exist here caused the development of the only major upland moor in the Swabian Alb.
