Museum "Im Kräuterkasten"
Nature and culture - for your pure enjoyment!
The Museum „im Kräuterkasten“ presents two large collections on three floors: prehistory and protohistory of the Ebinger Alb, assembled in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments. The museum tour documents the historical and cultural development from the Palaeolithic era up to the early Middle Ages. Particular highlights are the findings from Bronze and Iron Age burial mounds as well as the precious artefacts placed in the graves dating back to the Alamanni tribes and the Merovingian dynasty.
The Museum “Im Kräuterkasten” is a branch of the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart. The natural history collections present local wildlife and the region’s geology with impressive fossils from the Jurassic Sea which has characterized this region. The most important habitats of local wildlife are shown nextdoor in the zoological department.
