Fall Meeting of the Geopark Information Centers in Beuren

Current projects, new ideas, and planning for the 2027 Geopark Festival: Representatives from the Geopark information centers gathered at the Beuren Open-Air Museum for the fall meeting on October 22. The focus was on discussing how to jointly promote the region’s unique features and further develop the network.

A key focus was on how the organizations can present themselves more cohesively in the future and help visitors experience the region’s unique features. The next Geopark Festival, which will take place on May 30, 2027, in front of the Panorama Therme Beuren and will coincide with the spa’s 50th anniversary, offers an opportunity to do just that. Next year, the event will be complemented by a gourmet market featuring regional producers. In addition, initial ideas for the event’s design were discussed at the meeting. In addition to providing information, the focus will be primarily on experiences and hands-on activities.

The further development of the Geopark network was also on the agenda: In 2026, the 25th Geopark information center was inaugurated at the Berg Brewery in Ehingen. The opening of information centers at the Heidengraben Center in Erkenbrechtsweiler and at the Mössingen Orchard Information Center is planned for 2027.

Another topic was the new video series “Infostellen stellen sich vor” (“Infostellen Introduce Themselves”), which aims to highlight the diversity of the network. Three videos are already online and can be viewed on Instagram and Facebook. In addition, there were insights into the planned Geopark app as part of the INTERREG project, as well as into the development of a new master plan, in which the Infostellen are also being involved.

Different locations, diverse perspectives, and a shared goal: to showcase the treasures of our region and bring them to life. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Beuren Open-Air Museum for its hospitality and to everyone involved for their enthusiastic participation.
