The Geopark is making its presence felt: New poster campaign launched in the Swabian Alb

Since May 8, a large-scale poster campaign by the UNESCO Global Geopark Schwäbische Alb has been drawing attention to the region’s unique landscape and geological history throughout the entire area. With striking imagery, the Geopark aims to reach local residents—and draw their attention to the beauty of their “home.”

Large-format posters featuring the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Alb are currently on display at prominent locations throughout all ten districts. The first phase of the campaign runs through May 21, 2026, and includes a total of five different designs. The posters showcase impressive landscapes, geological features, and fascinating insights into the geological history of the Swabian Alb.

Rediscover the Swabian Alb

With this campaign, the UNESCO Global Geopark Schwäbische Alb is pursuing a clear goal: to raise awareness of the geopark among the region’s residents while helping them recognize just how unique the landscape they live in is.

Whether caves, karst landscapes, cliffs, or breathtaking views—the images invite people to rediscover the Swabian Alb and raise greater awareness of the region’s geological features.

If you haven’t spotted any of the posters yet, you’ll soon get a second chance—though with new designs: The second and final phase of the campaign runs from June 19 to July 2. So keep your eyes peeled then, too!

The poster on the left shows the Wental valley in the Ostalb district on the border with the Heidenheim district; the one on the right offers a view of the Laichinger Tiefenhöhle cave in the Alb-Donau district. The images in both “posters series” highlight the scenic and geological features of all the districts that are members of the UNESCO Global Geopark Schwäbische Alb.
