Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium Tuttlingen
Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium Tuttlingen has been recognised as a new Geopark School in the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Alb. The school, which specialises in natural sciences, has been intensively involved in environmental education, sustainable development and regional identity for many years. A particular focus is on project-orientated learning: for example, a near-natural school garden was created as a green classroom in which ecological relationships can be experienced in practice. Digital learning formats complement the programme and make geoscientific content accessible online.
At the award ceremony, dedicated pupils presented their projects - vividly, creatively and with a great sense of responsibility. It was particularly important for them to open up to the outside world: their wish is to make the results visible beyond the school and to promote dialogue with other Geopark schools. The IKG thus demonstrates how education for sustainable development can succeed in a lively way.
