Seeburg tuff bar

In the centre of Seeburg, the upper part of a tuff bar is visible which used to act as a natural dam in the Fischbach stream and created a reservoir measuring up to 8 m deep by 1 km long. At the beginning of the 17th century, a tunnel was excavated through the tuff bar for fishing purposes to drain the water from the lake periodically. The lake was finally drained to create building land in 1821.
