Nature Protection Centre Schopflocher Alb

Naturschutzzentrum Schopflocher AlbGeology, plants and animals on the Alb Escarpment

In the Nature Protection Centre Schopflocher Alb, you can find out more about the landscape and biotopes of the Swabian Alb. The new exhibition focuses on the subjects of landscape history, geology and volcanism. Visitors are also shown the importance of special habitats such as forest, juniper heaths and meadow orchards. At the heart of the exhibition, there is a large, interactive landscape model of the Alb Escarpment with plenty of elements to discover.

There is a former stone quarry outside, a children‘s nature playground and a show garden containing local native plants. Groups and school classes can also take advantage of a variety of natural history tours through the nature protection areas and local countryside.
