Biosphere Centre Swabian Alb
Man and nature in the biosphere reserve
Visitors and local inhabitants can find out more about the only biosphere reserve in Baden Württemberg in this centre which covers 450 square metres. How big is the reserve? What are its special features? Why has UNESCO recognized it a special region?
You will get to know the people from the biosphere reserve, take a look at their work and share their passion for special animals, plants and landscapes. You can spend time sitting on stones typical of the Alb and listen to their exciting stories about geological development and diversity in the Swabian Alb. And if you want to hear what the real locals or „Älbler“ say about the people from the Alb foreland , simply take a seat at the „Stammtisch“(regular’s table).
There are plenty of films and audio commentaries to keep boredom at bay. And if you want to take a breather from the exhibition, you are welcome to have a rest in the greenery outside and watch the red kite as it soars over the beech forests.
