"Tiefenhöhle Laichingen" (The Laichingen cave)
The geological X-ray picture of the Swabian Alb
The Laichingen pothole is the deepest show cave in Germany. So far it has been explored to a depth of 80 m. The tourist route is 330 m long and descends to a depth of 55 m. Vast chambers and huge passageways captivate visitors during their 45-minute tour of the cave.
In the visitors‘ centre above the cave entrance, there is a Museum of Speleology providing interesting information on the mysterious subterranean world of caves.
The Museum of Speleology and the Laichingen Pothole combine to provide a unique source of information on the subject of „karst landscape and caves“ in the Swabian Alb.
Laichingen Pothole and the Museum of Speleology are open from Palm Sunday until the end of the autumn holidays in Baden-Württemberg, daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
